Lato allows you to import accommodation details directly from a URL, file, or text, making it easy to add hotels and lodging information without manual copy-and-paste. This guide explains how to import accommodations into Lato, helping you save time and quickly include accurate hotel details in your trips and travel itineraries.

Where can You Import Accommodations?

1. In The Library

  1. Open the Library

  2. Go to the Accommodations tab

  3. Click the on the New accommodation dropdown

  4. Use your preferred import method from the three available options

2. In a Trip's Accommodation Element

  1. Open a Trip

  2. Click on the Itinerary section

  3. Go to the Day be Day tab

  4. On one of the days, open or create a new accommodation

  5. Click on the three dots and choose Import accommodation

  6. Use your preferred import method from the three available options

Import Methods

1. Import from URL

The quickest way to add accommodation details is by importing directly from a website.

How it works:

  1. Copy the website URL (works with most booking websites)

    • Please use the full URL from the browser's address bar, do not use share links

  2. Paste it into the URL field

  3. Click “Import”

2. Import from file

Perfect for when you've saved accommodation pages or have accommodation documents.

How it works:

  1. Upload the file

  2. Click “Import”

Supported file types:

  • Maximum file size: 10MB

  • Format: MHTML (recommended, preserves images), PDF, or DOC/DOCX

3. Import from text

Use this method when you want to copy and paste accommodation content directly.

How it works:

  1. Copy accommodation details from any website or document

  2. Paste the text into the import field

  3. Click “Import”

  4. The system extracts relevant information automatically (text only, images won’t be preserved)

What Gets Imported

The import function automatically extracts:

  • Accommodation name and description 

  • Location and address details 

  • Pricing information 

  • Amenities and facilities 

  • Contact information 

  • Images (only preserved when using MHTML files, or URL import)

After Importing

Once your accommodation is successfully imported:

  • It will appear in your Elements Library

  • You can edit any details if needed

  • Add it to your trip itinerary with one click
