In Lato, optional activities are experiences, tours, or suggested events that travellers might choose to do, but which aren’t scheduled as part of the official day-by-day itinerary. Optional activities help enrich trip plans by offering extra ideas and choices — such as sightseeing tours, cultural experiences, or optional excursions — without fixing them into a set timeline. They appear with an "Optional" badge in the travel app and are handled separately in pricing calculations, making it easy for travellers to see which activities are included in the base price and which are additional.

How to Mark an Activity as Optional?

  1. Open your trip in the trip editor > Itinerary > Day by day

  2. Either add a new activity or click on an existing activity to edit it

  3. On the "General" tab, look for the “Optional” toggle

  4. Toggle the switch to “on” to mark the activity as optional

  5. Click “Save

Note: Once saved, you'll see an "Optional" badge next to the activity in the travel app, making it clear to travellers that this is an optional experience
