Adjusting the Route on the Map
In Lato, creating a route for your trip is easy. First, add your destinations under Locations to generate an automatic route overview.
To tailor the route to your travel plans, add address details to individual elements in your day-to-day programme, such as accommodations, activities and transportations. This helps Lato map the journey more accurately, including specific roads and detours.
Please note: The route map provides an overview of your journey. Travellers can access navigation only through the links in their day-to-day programme, not directly from the map.
This guide shows you how to create and customise routes for your itineraries.

Go to your trip and open the Itinerary menu
-
Open the Locations tab to set general trip locations

- In transportations, navigate to the General tab, select the correct locations for departure, stopovers and arrival
- In other elements confirm the locations are correct, and if necessary add a day, start and end time
- Always check the daily order of the elements from top to bottom
- Find the day and the element (transportation, activity, accommodation) you want to adjust
-
Save the trip and check on the map if the route is now more detailed and correct
Why Might Routes Look Wrong?
Outdated map data: Sometimes the map hasn’t refreshed with the latest information about roads, construction, or new routes.
Location accuracy: The system might be using approximate locations instead of precise addresses.
Transportation mode: Different transport types (driving, walking, cycling) will show different routes.
Multiple stops: When you have several destinations, the route might not follow the order you expect.
Wrong elements order: The elements for that day have to be in the exact order they will occur, from top to bottom.
Wrong map: Lato offers 4 maps to choose from, this may change the roads shown in the backend (side roads, etc…)
