Welcome to Lato! ✈️ Creating a trip in Lato is the first step to building a professional travel itinerary. This quick guide shows you how to create a new trip, enter essential trip details, and start adding itinerary elements so you can begin planning and sharing your trip in just a few minutes.
Four Ways to Create a Trip in Lato
New Trip - Creating a trip from scratch with basic details
Import File - Uploading an existing PDF or DOCX document
Import URL - Copy/paste a URL to import all information for your trip
Generate with AI - Letting our AI create a trip based on your requirements
Creating a New Trip
Go to Trips and click the "New trip" button
This opens a simple form where you’ll enter basic trip details
You’ll need to provide:
Start date - when your trip begins
Client name - the name of your client or traveller
Language - choose the language for your trip (defaults to your account language)
Click “Create trip” to generate your new trip
You’ll be taken to the trip editing interface
Importing From a File
Go to Trips
Click the “New trip” button
Select “Import file”
Upload your document:
Upload a PDF or DOCX file containing trip details
Our AI will automatically extract and organise the information
Review and edit:
Check the imported content for accuracy
Make any necessary adjustments before finalising
Importing From a URL
Go to Trips
Click the “New trip” button
Choose “Import from URL”
Insert the URL of the page you want to use
Press "Import"
Wait for AI to work its magic:
When the trip is imported you can preview the outcome
If you are not happy with it, press "Try again" and our AI will redo the import
If you are happy with the result, press "Accept trip" and it will be added to your trips
Review and customise:
After the trip is imported you can review it in your Trips menu
Make any adjustments to better suit your needs
Generating with AI
Go to Trips
Click the “New trip” button
Select “Generate with AI”
Write your trip description as detailed as possible

Click on the arrow to start creation
When the creation is done you can Preview (👁) the trip
Choose "Accept trip" if you are please with the result, or "Try again" if our AI should give it another go

Once you’ve created your trip, you’ll enter the trip editing interface with these main sections:

Edit trip title, description, and client details
