With Lato’s PDF to trip import feature, you can instantly convert a PDF itinerary into a fully editable trip with just one click. Instead of manually copying content, Lato automatically extracts trip details from your PDF and transforms them into structured elements such as accommodations, activities, and transportation. This guide explains how to upload your PDF, review the imported content, and optimise your trip for client-ready proposals.

Supported File Types
PDF - Standard travel documents and itineraries
DOC/DOCX - Microsoft Word documents
TXT - Plain text files
File size limit: 10MB maximum
How to Import Your File
Go to Trips
Click the "New trip" button
Select the "Import file" option
Upload the document of your trip with file extension ".pdf, .doc, .docx or .txt"
Review your imported trip before accepting it
You now have the following choices:
Click "Try again" if you think the result could be improved
Click "Delete import" and "Undo import" next to cancel
Click "Accept Trip" to create the trip in Lato
What if the Import Fails?
Check file size - Ensure your file is under 10MB
Verify file type - Only PDF, DOC, DOCX, and TXT files are supported
Try a different format - If PDF doesn't work, try saving as DOCX or TXT
What if Information is Missing?
Review the original document - Ensure all details are clearly visible
Check document quality - Poor scans or unclear text may cause issues
Try manual editing - You can always add missing details after import
